William’s personal journey is one of perseverance and self-made success. Born into challenging circumstances, he grew up without the full support of his family and had to navigate life independently from a young age:
- At age 13, he started working at a tavern.
- By 17, he moved to Kingdom Life Children’s Centre, an orphanage, where he continued his education, eventually completing his matric.
- Despite early struggles, including lacking formal identification, William went on to university and secured his first professional role at Assupol Life in 2009 as a claims clerk.
His career progressed as he moved through various roles, gaining expertise in insurance and leadership. One of the highlights of his career was acting as CEO during the acquisition of Top Top Business Consultants, where he oversaw the integration into Assupol Life. He was also part of the team that successfully applied for a Micro Insurance License, establishing the third-party cell captive micro-insurer Incub8, where he took on the role of Sales Executive
